Tamara Rafkin is an artist focused on the connections between people, cultures, emotions, and places. Originally from Charleston, SC, she has lived in various parts of the United States and Belgium, which have shaped her artistic perspective.

Throughout her career, Tamara has produced a diverse range of works, including photographs, artist books, assemblages, ceramics, and mixed media works. Her pieces can be found in private and public collections both in the U.S. and Internationally.

 From 2021 to 2023, she was featured as one of eleven Belgian artists in the "Art at the Residency" exhibition at the Official Fifth Avenue Residence of the Belgian Consulate General in NYC, Tamara’s photographic series "Scars" is represented by Front Room Gallery in Hudson, NY. and currently she has works on view in exhibitions in China and in the Dallas Texas area (Fall 2024).

A little over a year ago Tamara moved to join her partner at their home and studio in North Fort Worth and began the MFA program at the University of North Texas in Denton. There she is integrating her skills in ceramics, photography, assemblage, and sculpture, with plans to complete her degree in Spring 2026.
